Michael Baumgartner

studied social work in Bern, London and Berlin and holds a Master in Social Work in intercultural work and conflict management from the University of Applied Sciences, Berlin.

As Director for Biodiversity and Toxics he established corporate accountability within Greenpeace Switzerland. Since 2012 he is project leader for corporate accountability.

As of 2011, he chairs the jury of the Public Eye Awards.

In 2004 he set up a social service providing NPO in the field of intercultural communications for the city of Zürich. He was then heading this service from 2005 to 2010.

In 1998 he co-established a small international human rights organisation in the field of science, medicine and human rights, which he served as secretary general till 2001. In that time he studied international human rights instruments at the institute René Cassin in Strasbourg and worked in several projects in and outside of Switzerland.

He currently studies applied ethics in the masters programme of the centre for ethics at the University of Zürich.
