Russian oligarchs and Switzerland
Since the Russian army invaded Ukraine, Russian oligarchs and their assets have been subject to international sanctions. After long hesitation, Switzerland adopted on 28 February 2022 the EU sanctions. Until recently, the ultra-rich business elite faithful to the Kremlin has been able to hide in the shadows of offshore havens. Now, their accounts and assets are being frozen worldwide and their complicity with the Kremlin is being investigated. The trail leads also to Geneva, Zug, and Lugano.
War in Ukraine - Solidarity must lead to Action
As the largest commodity trading hub in the world, Switzerland is once again in the spotlight. In view of the war in Ukraine, we call on the Federal Council, Parliament, and commodity traders to live up to their responsibilities immediately.
